Concept

The campaign centers on the idea that cybersecurity is not just a technical issue — it is a human one. Each visual piece tells a story of vulnerability, vigilance, and empowerment, using metaphor and bold imagery to bridge the gap between abstract digital threats and everyday reality.

• Dark, high-contrast visuals that evoke the tension between threat and protection
• Human-centered narratives that make security feel personal and urgent
• Iconography inspired by both digital interfaces and physical locks, shields, and barriers
• A modular system of visuals adaptable across print, social media, and environmental displays

Colors & style

• Primary palette: deep black backgrounds with electric cyan (#00e5ff) highlights to convey digital energy
• Secondary tones: steel gray and midnight blue for depth and layering
• Typography: bold sans-serif headlines paired with clean monospaced body text for a tech-forward aesthetic
• Graphic style: glitch effects, circuit-board patterns, and scanline overlays reinforce the cyber theme

Design process

The design process began with extensive research into common cyber threats and the psychological barriers that prevent people from adopting better security habits. From there, I developed a visual language that speaks to urgency without resorting to fear — empowering viewers to take action through informed awareness rather than anxiety.

Problem

Cybersecurity awareness campaigns often fall flat because they rely on overly technical jargon or generic stock imagery that fails to engage their audience.

• Most awareness materials are text-heavy and visually uninspiring, leading to low engagement
• Technical language alienates non-technical audiences who are often the most vulnerable
• Existing campaigns lack a cohesive visual identity, making them forgettable
• There is a disconnect between the urgency of cyber threats and the passive tone of most educational materials

The challenge was to create a campaign that feels both urgent and approachable — one that cuts through the noise and makes people genuinely stop, look, and think about their digital safety.

Solution

I designed a series of high-impact poster compositions and digital illustrations that use visual metaphor, bold color contrast, and cinematic framing to communicate cybersecurity principles at a glance.

• Created a cohesive visual system with reusable graphic elements — icons, textures, and color codes — for consistent branding across all touchpoints
• Developed narrative-driven compositions where each poster tells a micro-story about a specific threat (phishing, weak passwords, data breaches)
• Used layered illustration techniques combining photography, vector art, and digital effects for a distinctive, modern look
• Designed responsive formats optimized for both large-format print and social media distribution

Campaign Materials

The final deliverables include a complete set of campaign materials — 8 large-format poster designs, a suite of social media graphics in multiple aspect ratios, a comprehensive brand guidelines document, an icon and illustration library, and animated assets for digital displays. Every piece is designed to work independently or as part of the broader campaign system, ensuring flexibility for future expansion and adaptation across new platforms and contexts.
